Printing
In 2008, Grafica added fine art printing to its array of services. The wide format printer is capable of printing up to 44 inches wide and over seven feet long on a variety of media, including paper, canvas and vinyl. The French word, “giclee”, which means “spray”, is used to describe these prints because they are produced on an inkjet printer that sprays the pigment inks onto the media. The computer-controlled process combines the inks and lays down a faithful rendering of the image. It is truly print-on-demand, so we can create one print or 50. For the artist, that means there is no need to invest hundreds of dollars for a box full of prints that may never sell. Another advantage to this process is the flexibility it provides. An original artwork can be reproduced in a variety of sizes to fit the desires of the purchaser.
The same equipment and techniques used for reproducing fine art prints is also used to restore old photographs. Bring your fading, damaged photos to us, and we will reproduce them in a restored form. Your original photo will remain safe. We scan it and then digitally enhance, restore and, if desired, re-size the photo in a new print.
